McLaren y luego Schumacher
Gana Hakkinen delante de Coulthard y la Ferrari

Mika Hakkinen ha ganado el gp del Brasile, segunda prueba del mundial. El finlandes ha precedido al escosés David Coulthard su compañero de escudería. Al tercer puesto se ha ubicado Michael Schumacher que ha llevado su Ferrari delante del austriaco Alexander Wurz (Benetton-Mecachrome) y el alemán Heinz-Harald Frentzen (Williams-Mecachrome).
Con el brasileño, es el tercer gran premio consecutivo en el cual McLaren coloca sus dos pilotos en la cabeza. Para el finlandes Hakkinen es el tercer éxito en 98 gp disputados. Solo Schumacher y Wurz no fueron doblados por los McLaren.
